French Ambassador to India, H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Lenain visited IIT Delhi

The French Ambassador to India, H.E. Mr Emmanuel Lenain, Mr Nicolas Gherardi, Deputy Cultural Counsellor and Counsellor for Scientific & University Cooperation, Mr Fabien Chareix, Attaché for Scientific & University Cooperation and Ms Meenakshi Singh, Chargée de Mission for Scientific Cooperation from the Embassy of France in India visited IIT Delhi on 28th September 2021.

Prof Naveen Garg, Dean AAIP welcomed the Ambassador and the other members of the delegation and gave a brief introduction of IIT Delhi. Ambassador Lenain addressed the Director, Dean(s), faculty members and discussed the Indo-French academic exchanges and contemplate future strategies for cooperation. Being an architecture enthusiast, Ambassador Lenain was very keen on taking a look at the old buildings of IITD and after the meeting, he made a short visit to campus & took pictures.

Prof V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi proposed joint PhD programmes with French Institutions & IIT Delhi. He spoke about the new initiatives of IIT Delhi and the Doctoral programmes to increase the participation of foreign students.

There was an extensive discussion with Mr Nicolas Gherardi about Indo-French collaboration, ongoing projects, student exchange & various scholarships offered by France.

The meeting was also attended by Prof S. K. Khare, Dean, Research & Development, Prof Shashank Bishnoi, Associate Dean(Infra-Renovation), Prof  D. Sundar, Head, Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Prof Vivek Vitthal Buwa, Prof  Joyee Ghosh and  Prof Manan Suri.
