India–Japan Collaboration in Science & Technology | ICFAST 2025

New Delhi, October 12, 2025: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi was honoured to host the International Conference on Frontier Areas of Science and Technology (ICFAST 2025), jointly organised by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), the Indian JSPS Alumni Association (IJAA), and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Organised as part of the India–Japan Year of Science, Technology & Innovation Exchanges 2025, the conference brought together leading researchers, academicians, and policymakers to discuss advances in AI, quantum science, materials research, and sustainable technologies.

The Keynote Lecture was delivered by Dr. Akira Yoshino, Nobel Laureate (2019, Chemistry), recognised for his pioneering work on Lithium-ion Batteries (LIBs) — a landmark innovation that transformed portable energy systems worldwide.

ICFAST2025 featured enriching plenary lectures by distinguished speakers from Kyushu University, University of Tokyo, Nagoya University, Shimane University, and premier Indian institutions including IIT Delhi, JNU, DTU, and SSPL.

Such initiatives reaffirm the strong and growing India–Japan partnership in advancing global innovation, sustainability, and scientific excellence.
