Indian and Foreign Language Learning Programme (IFLLP)

The Office of the Dean of International Programmes, IIT Delhi will be offering  the Indian and Foreign Language Learning Program (IFLLP). This semester the classes will run from January-April (Semester 2, 2024-25).

Languages offered in Semester 2, 2024-25

French (Levels A-1, A-2)
German (Levels A-1, A-2)
Spanish (Levels A1.1, A1.2)
Japanese (Levels: Starter (A1) and Elementary 1 & 2 (A2))

Course Details

French language courses are currently advised by language experts onboarded by IIT Delhi. The certificates are  provided by IIT Delhi. The courses impart speaking as well as knowledge of the culture, and are conducted according to Studio D, at the following levels:
A1 and A2

German language courses are currently advised by language experts onboarded by IIT Delhi. The certificates are  provided by IIT Delhi. The courses include speaking as well as knowledge of the culture, and are conducted according to Studio D, at the following levels:
A1 and A2

The Instituto Cervantes-Embassy of Spain conducts Spanish language courses. The instructors teaching the courses are appointed at the Instituto. The certificates are jointly provided by the Instituto and IIT Delhi. The courses are conducted according to AULA INTERNACIONAL, at the following levels:
DELE Diploma A1 consisting of A1.1 and A1.2

Japanese language courses are overseen by the Japan Foundation, Delhi. The instructors teaching the courses are selected by the Foundation. The certificates are jointly provided by the Foundation and IIT Delhi. The courses include speaking as well as knowledge of the culture and are conducted according to JF Marugoto, at the following levels:

Fee

IIT Delhi students – Rs. 3,500 + GST@18% = Rs. 4,130
IIT Delhi faculty and staff – Rs. 7,500 + GST@18% = Rs. 8,850
All other candidates (non-IIT Delhi students, family members of IIT Delhi employees, IIT Delhi Alumnus) – Rs. 10,000 + GST@18% = Rs. 11,800

Certification

An exam will be conducted for each course and only the participants who clear it will receive a certificate of proficiency in that language at the chosen level. To appear for the proficiency/certificate exam, it is mandatory that the students must have 75%+ attendance and should have completed all the formal assessments during the course, as applicable in the language/course set by the language instructors.

Terms and Conditions

(a) Refund Policy
– If a person registers or joins the programme and cannot continue, they may write to ifllp@iitd.ac.in seeking withdrawal and refund within 10 days of the commencement of the programme. No requests  for refund will be granted after this period.
– Any refund due will be transferred to the bank account of the applicant after deduction of the GST amount.
– The institute will issue a letter/ID to students and other candidates outside IIT Delhi for entering the IIT campus. The candidates must return the issued letter/ID while requesting a refund of their fees.

(b) Applicants should apply only if they can commit to the completion of the course.

(c) There will be a marking scheme for the programme which will be announced by the respective language instructors.

(d) IIT Delhi reserves the right to modify and amend the refund policy at its sole discretion.
