The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, hosted a delegation from Uzbekistan to discuss strengthening cooperation in Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy. The delegation included representatives from the AI Alliance of Uzbekistan, the Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan.
The discussion was led by Prof. Rangan Banerjee (Director, IIT Delhi) and Prof. Anil Verma (Dean of International Relations), with participation from Prof. Naveen Garg (Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering) and Prof. Huzur Saran (Head, Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management).
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for future academic, research, capacity-building, and innovation-led collaborations between the two institutions.
Representatives from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign held a productive discussion to explore opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration. The discussions included an institutional overview and focused on identifying areas for collaboration in quantum technologies, agriculture, climate studies, humanities, and energy science. Opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and academic tracks were also explored, along with possible funding avenues such as SPARK and other partnership mechanisms.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi hosted a delegation from Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) to discuss strengthening academic and research collaboration. The meeting, led by Prof. Thierry Coulhon, President of IP Paris, and Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, focused on potential collaboration in joint PhD supervision, student and researcher mobility, internships and industry engagement, and priority research areas such as artificial intelligence, materials, and emerging technologies. The interaction marked a positive step toward developing a structured roadmap for future cooperation between IIT Delhi and IP Paris.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi hosted a delegation from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) led by Prof. Jaesung Jeong. The visit included academic discussions on potential collaborations with IIT Delhi faculty, a session on the KAIST Internship Program to enhance student mobility and experiential learning, and a tour of the Research & Innovation Park to explore IIT Delhi’s innovation and industry-linked research initiatives. The meeting aimed to strengthen India–Korea academic collaborations.
Day 1 of the Winter School between IIT Delhi and Coventry University began with an overview of IIT Delhi’s research landscape by Prof. Somnath Baidya Roy and a presentation on Coventry University by Prof. Richard Dashwood. Faculty and research scholars from both institutions shared their work, followed by thematic sessions on energy storage, AI/ML applications, and hydrogen production, storage, and fuel cell technologies. The day ended with a visit to IIT Delhi’s Research & Innovation Park, where participants engaged with start-ups in the energy and storage sectors, highlighting research translation and entrepreneurship.
